Request for Proposal for New Investment in the Canadian Centre for Housing Technology
The Government of Canada, through the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), is investing in the upgrade of the CCHT and is seeking industry partners to support this exciting project.
In response to changing industry needs, NRC will build a low-rise multi-unit residential building under Part 9 of the National Building Code to add to the existing twin test houses and the InfoCentre at CCHT. This new capacity will bring CCHT to the leading edge of building technology innovation by providing a versatile R&D testing platform for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, envelope components, renewable energy, energy storage, and control systems, in a range of construction types.
The existing twin houses and the InfoCentre of CCHT have been operated as a partnership between NRC, Natural Resources Canada, and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation since 1989.
The Request for Proposal is now available online until March 23, 2016.
